Certrevo covers the span. Everything else covers a segment.
A catalog, an admissions decision, tuition, coursework and a verifiable credential are one system here. Each of the tools below is genuinely excellent at its own segment of that — and each of them hands the rest back to you, which is where the seams are. Here is the whole table, marked as fairly as we know how.

This table compares categories, not specific products, and any individual product may be stronger or weaker than its column. If you think we have a mark wrong about a tool you use, tell us on the call and we will correct it here.
Most platforms own a segment. Certrevo owns the handoff.
That does not make the other tools bad. It makes them narrower than an education business whose programs come in more than one shape.
Recorded-course platforms
Checkout, video, funnels, and selling a self-paced course.
A real admissions decision, accept-first invoice-second, and a credential that can be revoked.
Live-cohort platforms
The sessions, calendar, and community around a live cohort.
Your public site, full catalog, recorded programs, payment ledger, and credential record.
Community platforms
Membership, discussion, and the space around the teaching.
Applications, tuition, work to mark, and a verified outcome at the end.
The stack you built yourself
Flexible, familiar, and inexpensive on day one.
Every handoff. The spreadsheet quietly becomes the record while another tool holds the money.
Certrevo’s claim is not that it does each isolated job better. It is that the jobs are one lifecycle, and the seams between them are where students and revenue disappear.
See the full comparisonWhen you should not buy Certrevo
If you sell one recorded course, take card payments at checkout, and nobody needs to verify the certificate afterwards, a course platform will cost you less and serve you better. If your whole business is the community and the teaching is incidental, buy a community platform. We will say this on the call rather than after you have signed.
Certrevo earns its price when your programs come in more than one shape: when some students apply and some just pay, when acceptance and payment are days apart, when there is work to mark, and when the certificate at the end has your institution’s name on it and somebody is going to check it.
Decide properly
Bring the tools you pay for now.
Tell us your stack and how your next cohort runs. If something narrower is the right answer, we will say so — that conversation is cheaper for both of us than a migration you regret.
